Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-25
This policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on the beocast.comwebsite. The native BEOCAST apps (macOS, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS) do not use cookies — only secure local storage for the user session (Apple Keychain).
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. It remembers information between visits (preferences, login session, etc.).
2. Cookies used by beocast.com
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies (consent-exempt)
- Authentication session (NextAuth) — duration: 30 days, purpose: keep you logged in across pages
- Theme preference (light/dark) — duration: 1 year, purpose: render the site in your chosen theme
- Language preference (EN/FR) — duration: 1 year, purpose: route to the localized version of the site
- CSRF protection — duration: session, purpose: protect against cross-site request forgery attacks
These cookies are essential to the site's operation and are set without prior consent (per French Data Protection Act Article 82).
2.2 Payment cookies (future Pro subscription)
- Stripe (secure payment processing) — only set during checkout, governed by Stripe's policy (stripe.com/cookies-policy)
2.3 Audience measurement cookies
No tracking, third-party analytics or advertising cookies are set. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising profiling tool.
3. How to manage your cookies
You can delete or block cookies at any time via your browser settings:
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and Site Data
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from logging into your account.
4. Changes
We will update this policy if we add third-party tools. The last-updated date appears at the top of this page.
